Overview

The nursery at Orchard has a long tradition of welcoming children either as a baby or around the time of their second birthday. The next seven to nine years at Orchard affords them a unique opportunity to experience a consistent secure environment in which to grow and achieve. The partnership between home and school is forged at this time and creates an invaluable and fruitful relationship with the wellbeing and happiness of the child at its core.

We work under the umbrella of the Early Years Foundation Stage and our main aim is to enable and encourage children to build on their experiences and stages of development.

We take best practice from the educational philosophies of Highscope, Steiner, some Montessori and Te Whariki to provide a holistic approach and test our theory that an excellent nursery education lays the foundation for academic success and a lifelong love of learning.
